When is the museum open?

Regular museum hours are 10 am to 5 pm. Closed Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year’s Day.

Where do I park?

Park in the Civic Center Cultural Complex garage at 12th Avenue and Broadway, directly across the street from the History Colorado Center. Enter on 12th Avenue, just west of Broadway. Rates begin at $1 per hour, and are posted inside the front entrance. Limited parking is also available in the garage adjacent to the History Colorado Center at 1255 Broadway. Enter on Broadway just north of the main entrance. Metered spaces and surface lots are also available nearby. More information can be found here.

Do you have bike racks?

Bike racks are located on the south side of the building along 12th Avenue.

How long does it take to go through the museum?

On average, it takes  1½ to 2 hours to explore our exhibits. Gallery programming, special events, and performances will add to the length of your visit.

Do you offer military discounts?

The History Colorado Center is a Blue Star Museum! Active duty military, National Guard, and Reserve military personnel and up to five family members receive free admission year-round.

The free admission program is available to any bearer of a Geneva Convention common access card (CAC), a DD Form 1173 ID card (dependent ID), or a DD Form 1173-1 ID card, which includes active duty U.S. military – Army, Navy, Air Force, Marines, Coast Guard, as well as members of the National Guard and Reserve, U.S. Public Health Service Commissioned Corps, NOAA Commissioned Corps – and up to five family members.

The military ID holder can either be active duty service member or other dependent family member with the appropriate ID card. The active duty member does not have to be present for family members to use the program.

Do you have a gift shop?

Yes, the History Colorado Center Gift Shop, located off the lobby, offers a variety of educational, fun, and unique gifts for all ages. You may visit the gift shop without paying museum admission.

Can I bring my own lunch?

Guests are welcome to bring their lunches to the History Colorado Center, but must eat in designated areas. The Rendezvous Café has lunch options available for purchase. Food and drink are not allowed in galleries.

Is photography allowed?

Bring a camera! There will be opportunities for photography, but note that tripods are prohibited and additional photo restrictions may apply in certain exhibits.

Are wheelchairs available?

The History Colorado Center is ADA compliant. Wheelchairs are available for check-out free at the information desk in the museum lobby.

Can I rent a locker?

Guest lockers are available in the coatroom off the atrium for 25-cents.

Are strollers allowed in the museum?

Strollers are allowed throughout the museum. Stroller parking is available off the atrium near the southwest restrooms.
