Blue Star Program
History Colorado Center offers free admission to for all active duty, National Guard and Reserve military personnel and their families. Veterans receive $2 off admission.
The free admission program is available to any bearer of a Geneva Convention common access card (CAC), a DD Form 1173 ID card (dependent ID), or a DD Form 1173-1 ID card, which includes active duty U.S. military – Army, Navy, Air Force, Marines, Coast Guard, as well as members of the National Guard and Reserve, U.S. Public Health Service Commissioned Corps, NOAA Commissioned Corps – and up to five family members. The active duty member does not have to be present for family members to use the program.
Low Sensory Mornings
The History Colorado Center is happy to open its doors for families that prefer a lower sensory environment. For this, we close the museum to the general public, attendance numbers limited, and sounds throughout the exhibit turned down. RSVP is required; please email Shannon Voirol at to reserve a spot.

5 by 5 Project
The History Colorado Center has partnered with the City of Denver Mayor’s Office for Education and Children to provide Denver Head Start and Early Head Start children and their families with year-round access and educational opportunities at no cost. To receive free admission for the Head Start participant and his or her family, please present your 5 by 5 card at the admissions desk.
MY Denver Card
All Denver Public School students (K-12) qualify to receive free access to Denver County Recreation Centers as well as to Cultural Partners, such as History Colorado. MY Denver Card holders gain a free child’s admission. Please present your MYDenver Card at the admissions desk to receive free student admission with purchase of adult admission.
Library Pass Programs
History Colorado has partnered with Denver Public Libraries, Jefferson County Libraries, and Douglas County Libraries to provide free admission for Library card holders. Please inquiry with your local library about checking out a museum admission pass.
